High-Profile Iranian Voices Rally Around Pahlavi’s Road Map for Post-Islamic Republic Iran

A diverse group from the Iranian diaspora, including community leaders, activists, artists, musicians, academics, scientists, journalists, and other professionals, has released a public statement supporting Prince Reza Pahlavi’s plan for a unified, secular, pluralistic, and democratic Iran.

A copy of the statement was provided exclusively to Kayhan Life. Iran’s nationwide uprising began on December 28, 2025, emerging from Iran’s bazaars and quickly spreading to streets and public spaces throughout the country.

Against that backdrop, the signatories say that many Iranians have urged Pahlavi to take on a unifying role during a possible transition. They emphasize that they see him as a transitional leader who could represent national unity and help guide the country peacefully toward self-determination.

The letter points out that Pahlavi focuses on national reconciliation, inclusive civic participation, and “free, fair, and transparent elections,” describing his approach as nonpartisan and nonideological. It also urges Iranians to record instances of state repression and to tell the international community that the current government does not meet basic rights or democratic standards. This appeal comes amid ongoing debates abroad over how to deal with Tehran and amid divisions within Iran’s opposition groups.

Well-known cultural and public figures supporting the statement include pop stars Ebi (Ebrahim Hamedi), Martik, Sattar, and Shahram Shabpareh; football legend Ali Karimi; and Iranian-American actor Shohreh Aghdashloo, an Academy Award nominee recognized for her work in American film and television.

The declaration ends by highlighting Pahlavi’s point that: “The choice of Iran’s future government should be left to the Iranian people to decide through free elections; what form it ultimately takes is up to them.”
